Purchase Ledger Assistant - Part Time - Carlisle

PPM Limited is a responsive and planned property maintenance company based throughout Cumbria & Leeds. We provide services for social housing clients as well as private. We are currently looking for a Purchase Ledger for our Head Office in Carlisle.

You will maintain the accounting of all daily financial transactions within purchase ledger and ensure all suppliers are paid within the agreed credit limits set by the senior team and all payments have the relevant authorisations before submission.

Key Accountabilities:

  • To maintain the Purchase Ledger system in line with company practice. Ensuring information is accurate and correct with the PO systems and the relevant authorisations. Also ensuring all suppliers are paid within agreed credit terms.
  • Maintain supplier statements and check against supplier records.
  • To record credit card expenditure ensuring all costs are accurately recorded.
  • Accurate recording of all VAT charges in line with the legislation.
  • Interface with internal and external contacts dealing with all invoices and payment queries.
  • Onboarding of subcontractors including subcontractor insurance and GDPR.
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Construction Industry Scheme tax reconciliation and returns
  • Collating various information for the senior team

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • AAT Qualified or working towards AAT status
  • Experience of working with Sage
  • Experience of working within purchase ledger systems
  • Experience of working with spreadsheets
  • Relevant financial experience in Accounts Payable management essential together with some basic financial training/qualifications as a minimum
  • Knowledge of accounting systems and double entry book-keeping

Job Type:

  • Part-Time - Working hours are negotiable and must be between Monday to Friday, 8am to 4.30pm 
  • Expected no less than 15hours per week
