PPM Limited staff support Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw Colour Run at Carlisle Racecourse.
Carlisle Racecourse was a perfect venue once again for the third Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw Colour Run which took place on Sunday 14th May. The sun was shining and over 1000 people turned out for the colourful 5km run including our PPM Carlisle Team.
The 2017 event promised to be bigger and better than ever and it didn't disappoint. There was more fun and entertainment added to this year's 5km route with a foam station which was great fun for all involved.
Our team had a brilliant afternoon and raised an amazing £280.00 between them for the hospice. Joanne Forster, a member of the Accounts Team in Carlisle, took part for the first time this year and said; "I've always wanted to get involved and think it's such a fantastic way to raise money and make a difference to people's lives in our local community, the hospices provide such wonderful care. We had a really good time doing the run together in our team and it's great that all the family can take part too. I'd definitely love to do it again"
The money raised from the event helps the hospice to provide the highest standard of care, support and activities to local adults and children with life limiting illnesses and also their families and friends. It costs over £3.7million a year for the hospice to provide this care with approximately 27% received directly from the NHS. There was an amazing £62,000 raised at last year's event and the hospice bosses really hope they can beat that figure this year.
