On Friday 18th October, the whole of our PPM team embraced 'Wear It Pink' and wore very snazzy pink hi-vis jackets for the day to raise awareness of breast cancer and money for Breast Cancer Now. Money raised helps to fund world breast cancer research and life-changing support.
Breast Cancer Now’s Wear It Pink day is one of the biggest fundraising events in the UK. It takes place during Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, with thousands of amazing people wearing pink in their communities, schools or work places. Our PPM team were really keen to support the event and actually totally rocked the pink. We’ve had loads of compliments from people who spotted our operatives in the community and on social media, we might just have to change to pink forever!
All monies raised by our team will be match funded by PPM and donated to Breast Cancer Now.
Not only did we celebrate Wear It Pink day in our Leeds Depot, we also held a Dementia Friends Information Session with all of our team there. We are committed to ensuring all of our PPM team are Dementia Friends as part of our customer service and to help create Dementia Friendly Communities.
Beth Nicholls, our Communications & Development Manager and PPM’s Dementia Champion, who delivers the Information Sessions said, “Due to the nature of our business we have a high chance of coming into contact with customers who have been diagnosed, or who are living with dementia, on a daily basis. We think it’s important that all of our team have an awareness of dementia so that they can understand how best to support the customer and provide the best possible customer service and care.”
