Give a Day to the City in Carlisle
As part of Give a Day to the City in Carlisle 2017, PPM Limited got a team of 5 together to help Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw Children's' Hospice in Carlisle with their gardens.
Give a Day to the City in Carlisle is all about being fiercely generous - giving away whatever is in your hand or whatever you are passionate about.
Hundreds of generous individuals will be donating their time during this week to Give a Day to the City Carlisle in numerous ways.
Eden Valley Hospice provides care for adults with life limiting illnesses from North Cumbria. They have a 12-bed in-patient unit as well as a day hospice. Jigsaw provides day to day care, support and activities to children and young people across Cumbria who are living with a life limiting illness.
Laura, Beth and Glen helped to create two vibrant flower beds in the gardens of Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw Children's' Hospice. Planted with a carefully selected range of perennial flowering plants, these splashes of year-round colour will provide a beautiful showcase for patients and their families.
Andy and Craig dismantled an old summer house, which was no longer fit for purpose and cleared the site. They also went beyond their brief by helping to create the shuttering for the cold frame plinth.
Melanie Taylor from the Give a Day to the City Carlisle said " I just wanted to thank your team again for giving a day up at Eden Valley Hospice yesterday - I think you all enjoyed a day doing different things from the norm, and we certainly loved having you. Craig and Andy went well beyond the brief by helping to create the shuttering for the cold frame plinth, and worked like Trojans to dismantle the summerhouse, whilst Beth, Laura and Glen created a beautiful flowerbed at the entrance to the Hospice, where it will be seen by many for years to come"
We had an amazing day helping out with the project, there was a great buzz about the gardens and it was incredible to be a part of such a rewarding project. Well done to all involved, we look forward to next year.
